New technology paint being applied to vessels operated by Black Cat Cruises will result in huge savings on fuel costs and is better for the environment.“We are replacing our existing traditional paint with new intersleek 970 antifoul paint on two of our vessels that operate in Akaroa,” Black Cat Cruises Managing Director Paul Bingham said.

The Designing Our Future international design competition winners have been announced as two Canterbury designers. Ben Fussell from Rangiora High School won the Secondary School section and Rob Dauvergne from Kaiapoi won the Open section and along with that the opportunity to study at the Design and Arts College of New Zealand (D&A) for two years for free.
