localeye is arranged in ten main sections. These are listed at the left hand
side of every page in localeye.
Click on one of these sections to display the pages for that section.
Once you click into any section, links to categories of information relevant
to that section are shown on the right of each page in that section. Look for
the LINKS heading.
|
In each of the ten main sections, the top entry under
the LINKS heading
on the right hand side of the page is a complete A-Z for that section. If you
click this, an alphabetical listing of all the resources in that
section is displayed.
As you go deeper into local eye, you will notice that whenever there is
a LINKS heading,
there is a corresponding A-Z.
The Canterbury Search has been constructed to quickly allow access to web based
information in Christchurch and Canterbury or about Christchurch and Canterbury.
Simply type one or more keywords into the search box and press the Enter key on your
keyboard or click the beside the search box.
For more details on searching, see our search tips below.
When you search, you get results from two places - the localeye directory structure
and the keyword index constructed from 'crawling' web sites in and about
Christchurch and Canterbury.

Try to enter words or phrases that are likely to be found only in the information
you want to find. The more words you enter, the fewer results you'll get and the
easier the results will be to look through. However, searching for too many words
may mean that you get no search results.
-
Searching on two or more words at once automatically uses the AND operator. For
example - search for Christchurch city to find resources that have both the word
Christchurch and the word city anywhere within them.
-
Search for a phrase by enclosing the search words in double quotation marks ( " ).
For example, search for "Canterbury business" to find resources which contain the
phrase Canterbury business.
-
Use the OR operator to search for a resource containing one or more of the words
you specify. For example - search for Christchurch OR Canterbury to find the
word Christchurch or the word Canterbury, or both.
-
Limit your search by using the NOT operator to exclude words. For example - type
Christchurch NOT city to find all instances of Christchurch where the word city
is not present in the same resource.
-
Look for words that begin with the same letters by using a single asterisk ( * ).
For example - search for manage* to find manage, manager, management, etc.
Select from a range of images to suit your site needs, or add a Canterbury Search box.
