Preparing for the Lions Invasion

The 2005 British and Irish Lions Rugby Tour will hit Christchurch for the First Test at Jade Stadium on Saturday 25th June. In the week before the test the city is preparing for an invasion of fans. Among the facilities on offer will be special inner city parking sites for campervans (over 70% of New Zealand's campervan fleet is booked up for this time).

                      

A  special Lions fan merchandise Superstore will be set up in Cathedral Square.Fans who can't get to the match will be offered the chance to watch the game on a giant screen in Cathedral Square.
