Strategy, developed to address the decline of our native
biodiversity. 2005 is also the first year of the United Nations
Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.
 Whitebait
season begins
15 August
The Department of Conservation reminds people that the whitebait
fishing season begins 15th August and runs until the 30th
November. The whitebait season for the West Coast of the South
Island is 1 September to 14 November inclusive.
