City Mall excavation and update

Christchurch City Council is digging four trenches in the City Mall to locate services and two rumoured sets of tram tracks. This is preliminary investigation, not the start of the City Mall upgrade.Although the council has agreed on a concept plan for the City Mall no decision will be made on what if any traffic will use the planned roadways until a Special Consultative Procedure (SCP) is run in March or April 2007.
