In the News: Opinions and discussion on the Central City Alcohol banThe Central
City Alcohol ban came into force on December 26. The City Council
proposed this ban on carrying and drinking alcohol in the Central City
to make the area safer at the weekend.
The ban applies to the
public carrying or drinking alcohol on Thursday, Friday and Saturday
evenings, from 7pm to 7am the following morning. All streets, malls, parks and public places inside
the
zone are now alcohol-free at those times.
