Tourism in Canterbury

The Tourism Research Council's information on Canterbury is an excellent source of statistical information and reports on the current state and future directions of the tourism industry in the regions.
The Canterbury region is the second most frequently visited region by international visitors, behind Auckland and the Council says that the future for the Canterbury region is expected to be bright with significant drawcards for both summer and winter visitors, both international and domestic visitors are expected to increase by 29% from 2001 to 2008.
